Safaricom PLC has revealed that it is thrilled to be sponsoring the first ever Rallycross Motorsport Festival dubbed RX Motorsport Kenya.
The rally which sponsored through their M-PESA platform is going to be held at Machakos Peoples Park on Sartuday.
“Through our M-PESA platform, we are thrilled to be sponsoring RX Motorsport Kenya to hold the first ever Rallycross Motorsport Festival going down this weekend at Machakos Peoples Park,” read part of the statement.
Rallycross is a combination of rallying & circuit racing including short, sharp races on part asphalt, part gravel or loose surface.
According to Safaricom PLC up to 8 cars at a time will go wheel-to-wheel on the circuit with the winner being the quickest to complete the required number of laps.
Maxine Wahome, Jeremiah Wahome, Hamza Anwar and McRae Kimathi will be competing alongside rally greats such as Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo, Baldev Chagger and Alastair Cavenagh.
