First win for Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja after the IEBC tribunal had expunged two new affidavits of the complaint Dennis Gakuu.

The committee found the said affidavits, that had attached the CUE letter revoking the certification of his degree, were filed without the committee’s permission.

In addition, the complaint did not seek to have them deemed as properly filed.

The chair George Murugu expunged the documents saying the committee is only dealing with the issues of the decision of returning officers to clear Sakaja to vie for the governorship.

“No sufficient to reason has been demonstrated as to why this court should allow the supplementary affidavit. This committee is required to check on any wrongdoing by the returning officer,” ruled the committee.
