Sakaja Is Not Under Arrest: Police

The National Police Service has denied reports that Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has been arrested in connection with a global criminal syndicate.

According to a police statement issued on Friday, Sakaja went to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Kiambu Road following reports of his impending arrest but was turned away.

The DCI, in a statement, said the aspiring governor was shown out of their officers, even after ‘loitering at the parking area.”

“He was escorted outside the main office block before he hovered around the parking area and appeared to be making calls. He then requested to be shown to a restroom and was led to one close to the gate.”

“Once outside, he again continued making calls only for the orderly sergeant to note that he was buying time as media reporters gathered at the majestic entrance to DCI headquarters, setting up their tools of trade. At this point, he was immediately shown out.”
