Anti-Corruption Court Wants Samrat Bail Cancelled

Samrat staged a brawl on Friday (August 26, 2022) after being released on bail for the first time in three days.

The Anti-Corruption Commission today (August 29, 2022) petitioned the High Court to vacate a lower court order that recently granted bail to expelled Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Samrat in a corruption case.

Earlier in the day, the bench granted the ACC permission to file a petition with the court seeking cancellation of the lower court’s order on Samrat’s bail.

Samrat was recently granted ad-interim bail by a Dhaka court in the corruption case filed against him for siphoning around Tk 222 crore and channeling it to casinos in Singapore and Malaysia between 2011 and 2018.

Samrat staged a brawl on Friday (August 26, 2022) after being released on bail for the first time in three days.

On Friday, he joined thousands of Jubo League leaders and workers at Dhanmondi 32 to pay tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
