An aircraft operated by EBB Air Services was involved in a runway excursion earlier today at Mandera Airstrip after reportedly losing control while on the runway.
In an initial statement, Mandera Municipality confirmed that there were no casualties, with all passengers and crew safely evacuated without injury. The Mandera Municipality Fire and Disaster Management Department responded swiftly, securing the scene and providing emergency support, with officials praising the professionalism of all responders involved.

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) later issued an official statement confirming the incident, noting that the aircraft, operating a domestic flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, veered off the runway during landing at approximately 0910 hours and came to a stop at the airstrip’s perimeter fence.
According to KAA, the aircraft was carrying 32 passengers and 4 crew members at the time of the incident. All individuals on board were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Authorities have confirmed that the cause of the incident remains under investigation, as aviation officials work to establish what led to the runway excursion.
KAA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, security, and operational excellence across all airport facilities.
