Sean Kingston and Mother Faces Decades In Prison Over A $1M Fraud Case

Singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been convicted in a $1 million wire fraud case.

The Beautiful Girls hitmaker, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was found guilty on all five charges, including one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud.

Kingston, 35, and his mother now face sentencing on July 11. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, meaning Kingston could face significant jail time.

Fraudulent Luxury Purchases

Prosecutors alleged that Kingston and his mother engaged in a scheme to obtain jewelry, luxury cars, and other expensive goods without paying.

The case came to light after a Florida company, Ver Ver Entertainment, accused Kingston of fraud over the purchase and installation of a $150,000, 17-foot TV.

Attorney Dennis Card claimed Kingston used his celebrity status to convince businesses to release high-value items before making payments—payments that allegedly never arrived.

Jeweler Testifies Against Kingston

During the trial, jeweler Moshe Edery testified that Kingston and Turner falsified a wire transfer for a luxury watch worth $285,000.

Edery stated that Kingston promised to introduce him to other celebrities to boost his business. After handing over the watch, the payment never came through, leading to Edery losing his job and being blacklisted from the industry.

Awaiting Sentencing

Kingston is currently under home detention as he awaits sentencing. His mother, Janice Turner, was also convicted.

With sentencing set for July, both could be facing lengthy prison terms.
