Love was in the air this weekend as Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang got engaged to his long-time sweetheart, Channelle Kittony, in a glamorous traditional ceremony attended by the who’s who of Kenyan politics.

The colourful event, held on Saturday, brought together an elite guest list that included KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, local leaders, and prominent family members from both sides.

Sudi, who is considered a close ally of Chesang, offered heartfelt congratulations. “I wish the couple a lifetime of love, happiness, and togetherness as they begin their new journey together,” he said.

Channelle Kittony, who currently serves as the County Executive Committee Member for Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure in Trans Nzoia, dazzled in a stunning outfit befitting her high-profile status.

The bride-to-be hails from a powerful lineage. She is the daughter of Radio Africa Group Chairman Kiprono Kittony and the granddaughter of former Senator and Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organisation (MYWO) chairperson Zipporah Kittony, a pioneer in Kenya’s women’s movement.

Sources close to the family say the relationship between the senator and Channelle has been blossoming quietly behind the scenes, with their union viewed as a political and social alliance between two influential families.

The engagement has sparked plenty of buzz on social media, with congratulatory messages pouring in and fashionistas raving over the couple’s attire.
