Senator Boni Khalwale performed a 2-hour surgery on Kisumu Polytechnic lecturer Sebastian Lidigu, who was injured with a machete after his son attacked him.
The Senator saved Lidigu’s life after a 10-minute operation at Mukumu Hospital.
Lidigu sustained cuts on his head and arm.
“Kisumu Polytechnic lecturer Sebastian Lidigu was this morning grievously injured after his machete welding son attacked him. Am glad to have saved his life after a grueling 2hrs 10 min operation at Mukumu Hospital,” he said.
Before politics, Khalwale practiced medicine at the University of Nairobi and worked as a medical officer in various districts.
He gained experience in management in the Kakamega District from 1988-90, ensuring optimal hospital operations and a constant supply of medicine and vaccines.
