Senator Sifuna, Wycliffe Oparanya Allegedly Summoned By DCI

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna claims he has been summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road.

Speaking on Wednesday on Spice FM, Sifuna alleged that the investigative agency did not issue the summon through a direct letter to them.

“I have been summoned to the DCI and in fact, they have not given me written sermons I just heard it from Danstan Omari who is the coalition lawyer and they said that they want me and Oparanya to appear. We don’t know for what,” he claimed.

The ODM Secretary General however noted that he was not aware of why he was summoned hinting at recent events during countrywide protests announced by Azimio party leader Raila Odinga.

“I think they want to question me about the sufuria I was holding, they assume I stole it from a mama mboga,” he stated.

“I do not know why they called me. If they have a problem with Raila let them go arrest him, I can show you where he is right now why bother me and Oparanya? I am a small player in this situation, I do not know why they are coming for me. If you have a problem Raila go after him not us,” he added.

However, he detailed that since he was a law-abiding citizen, he will honour the summon and present himself at DCI offices.

“I am a law-abiding citizen if they summon me I will go there I have nothing to hide,” he said.

“The most ridiculous thing is I am being summoned before people who have made clear criminal pronouncements that have resulted in the invasion of people’s farms.”
