Senators will this afternoon engage on the state of the nation address last Thursday by President Uhuru Kenyatta that outlined the progress Kenya has made.
Top of the agenda today will be the 7th Annual report on the measures taken to implement national values and principles of governance.
The Annual Report to Parliament on the State of National Security as well as the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Consolidated Annual Report for the financial years 2017/2018, 2018/2019 & 2019/2020 will also be under discussion.
The senators will however endeavor on the much spirited Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which has sparked political temperatures after its launch by the President.
The debate has drawn political battle lines between opposing parties, against the initially projected 100% support towards the initiative.
Other key reports to be scrutinized will be Kenya’s fight against coronavirus, and the full re-opening of schools amid the scourge.
