What he believed was a professional football trial turned into a horrific ordeal, as he was abducted and held for ransom. His family, unable to meet the demands, could not secure his release.
Touré, a young talent with dreams of playing professionally, had traveled to Kumasi, 250 kilometers from Accra, hoping to advance his football career, possibly in Morocco.
The opportunity, which should have been a stepping stone, instead became a fatal trap. His mother, based in Yeumbeul near Dakar, reportedly sent 650,000 CFA francs to the supposed recruiters in desperation, only for the situation to end in tragedy.
