Several Feared Dead After 2 Matatus Collide in Murang’a

Several people are feared dead and others injured following a nasty accident in Murang’a county.

The Monday, January 6, morning accident occurred at Wajii, near the Maragua River Bridge, resulting in several unreported casualties.

Preliminary reports indicated the accident occurred following a collision involving a Murang’a Shuttle that was en route to Nairobi and a Nakkons Sacco PSV van, which was returning to Nyeri via the Murang’a roadway.

The impact was severe, and emergency services are currently evaluating the scene to assist any injured parties and gather more details about the incident.

Victims have been rushed to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital for treatment as police continue with investigations into the accident.

Among those involved in the accident was a section of staff from the Mwai Kibaki Hospital who were traveling via the Nakkons Sacco Matatu from Nairobi to Othaya.

At the time of publishing this article, the exact number of casualties as well as the cause of the crash was yet to be determined.
