Juja, Nairobi – Several passengers have been injured after a Super Metro public service vehicle (PSV) was involved in an accident near Burudani Address, a popular entertainment joint in Juja along the Thika Superhighway.
According to eyewitnesses, the matatu was travelling from Juja Town on the highway’s service lane when it suddenly veered off the road and overturned, landing on its side just a few metres from the entertainment venue.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, though initial reports suggest the driver may have lost control.
The incident caused panic among commuters and pedestrians in the area. Images and videos from the scene showed fellow road users and good Samaritans scrambling to assist trapped passengers.
Screams and cries for help could be heard from inside the overturned vehicle as emergency responders worked swiftly to evacuate the injured.
The number of casualties is yet to be confirmed by authorities.
