Exhumation At Shakahola Mass Graves Halted By Heavy Rains

The process to exhume operation in Shakahola, Malindi has been temporarily halted.

This is after heavy rains made the process impossible.

The operation exhumed 11 bodies on Thursday alone, bringing the death toll to 109.

Nonetheless, top government officials are expected in Shakahola as the government prepares to form an inquest as part of an investigation into the shocking deaths.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Noor Gabow, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations’ head of the investigation bureau Abdalla Komesha are among those expected in the area.
