Shaq the Yungin announces exit from NRG Radio after six years

Radio presenter Shaquille O’Neill Oduk, popularly known as Shaq the Yungin, has announced his departure from NRG Radio after a six-year tenure.

Taking to Instagram, Shaq thanked everyone for their support throughout his journey, as he announced his departure.

The radio personality has worked in NRG for 6 years and was hosting the mid-morning show.

As seen through an Instagram post, Shaq shared the circumstances surrounding his departure from the station adding that the decision in itself was quite tough for him to make.

“Crazy I know… New vibe… Hardest choice that I’ve been thinking of making for a minute but yeah, I’m going to miss you all on this side!” Shaq said.

As Shaq thanked NRG Radio for the opportunity, he said goodbye to his colleagues for the period they worked together at the station.

“After 6 years working at NRG Radio, I hereby announce my resignation from the company. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by the management. I bid farewell to my colleagues, management and most importantly to the fans that have tuned in every day for the last 6 years while I was on air,” Shaq stated.

In his short caption, Shaq thanked his fans and equated his journey to a shark and a fish bowl. He added that at some point if you have a shark in a fish bowl, it will outgrow its environment and break one day.

“God bless all who were part of the journey. When you have a shark in a fish bowl it’s going to break it one day. I thought I knew what my caption would be but I’m trying to say less, cheers to a good 6 years,” Shaq added.

Other than being a radio host, Shaq is an entrepreneur who does corporate deejaying and events. He has not revealed his future ventures.

His resignation follows the recent exits of Radio DJ Xclusive and host Mwalimu Rachel from NRG Radio, both of whom have since joined Radio Africa Group.
