The Central Bank of Kenya has released the official daily exchange rates for April 22, 2026, showing relative stability of the Kenyan shilling against major global and regional currencies.
According to the latest data, the Kenya shilling traded at KSh129.12 against the US dollar, reflecting minimal movement compared to recent sessions.
The British pound exchanged at KSh174.55, while the euro stood at KSh151.88. The Japanese yen (100 units) was quoted at KSh81.14.
Within the East African region, the Uganda shilling traded at KSh28.65, while the Tanzania shilling stood at KSh20.21. The Rwanda franc remained steady at KSh11.31.
Meanwhile, the South African rand was quoted at KSh7.87.
The figures indicate a largely stable currency environment, with only slight fluctuations across major trading currencies, as the shilling continues to hold within a narrow range against the dollar.
