Kenya failed to qualify for the Main Cup quarterfinals for the eighth time in a row after losing all three matches in the Singapore Sevens on April 8.
After a promising start to the tournament, Shujaa was relegated to the classification matches after losing 26-19 to France in their first match, 21-19 to the USA, and 33-17 to Uruguay.
Shujaa got off to a fast start against Uruguay, with Herman Humwa scoring the first goal.
The South Americans, on the other hand, responded with two well-taken tries in a two-minute span, courtesy of Felipe Perez and Baltazar Amaya, to extend their lead to 12-5 midway through the half.
