Singer Sanaipei Tande Confirms Her Exit From ‘Kina’ Show

Popular singer and actress Sanaipei Tande has confirmed her departure from the local series ‘Kina,’ where she played the lead role of Nana Tandala for four seasons.

Sanaipei revealed on social media that she left the show due to exhaustion and the need for rest.

She announced the news on her Instagram page, where she thanked her fans, cast, crew, and producers for their love and support. She also wished her successor, Mbeki Mwalimu, success in her new role. Mbeki is well-known for her roles in ‘Selina’ and ‘Sincerely Daisy’.

“For clarification and accuracy, I chose to leave due to exhaustion and consequently much needed rest. Because of the nature of the show, it was necessary to find a replacement to allow for your continued entertainment,” she said.

“I thank each and every one of you who has shown great love, support, and concern through numerous messages, comments, and compliments. I assure you I have read ALL of them. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as “The Great Nana Mandi Tandala” and all facets of this phenomenal character. I will surely miss it,” she added.

‘Kina,’ a drama series that airs on Maisha Magic Plus and Showmax, is about power, revenge, and justice. The story revolves around Nana, a powerful lawyer who also works as a crime boss.

In 2022, Sanaipei won a Kalasha Award for Best Lead Actress in a TV Drama for her role as Nana.

Sanaipei stated that she enjoyed playing Nana, a wife, mother, boss, and brute. She stated that she will miss it and that she hopes to return to the screen soon.

Sanaipei began her career as a radio host before moving on to music and acting. She has been featured in other shows such as ‘Aziza’, ‘Varshita’ and ‘Auntie Boss’.
