Sitati Olando Appointed Acting Head of Government Delivery Unit

By Michelle Ndaga

President William Ruto has appointed Sitati Olando as the Acting Head of the Government Delivery Unit (GDU), replacing Lee Kyonze whose acting mandate was revoked with immediate effect.

The appointment, communicated through a letter signed by Principal Administrative Secretary Arthur Osiya on behalf of Chief of Staff Felix Koskei, takes effect immediately. Olando will report to Eliud Owalo, Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Delivery and Government Efficiency.

Before his appointment, Olando served as Director of Delivery at the GDU. He has nearly 20 years of experience in public service and project management and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

The Government Delivery Unit is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the implementation of key national government projects and ensuring accountability across ministries and counties.

Olando will oversee the tracking and reporting of flagship programs under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

State House confirmed that recruitment is underway to appoint a substantive Head of GDU, but Olando will serve in an acting capacity until the process is complete.
