Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár, has arrived in Kenya for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening political dialogue, development cooperation and economic ties between the two countries.

The Minister is accompanied by representatives from 35 Slovak companies and institutions seeking to explore trade, investment and business opportunities in Kenya.
During the visit, the delegation will participate in a Kenya–Slovakia Business Forum that will bring together government officials, investors and private sector leaders from both countries to discuss commercial partnerships, technology transfer and investment opportunities.

Mr Blanár is also expected to hold bilateral talks with senior Kenyan government officials on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, education, innovation, technology and sustainable development.
The Slovak Foreign Minister will further visit development projects funded by the Government of Slovakia in Kenya to assess their impact and explore opportunities for expanded collaboration.
The projects form part of Slovakia’s development cooperation programme and support local communities while contributing to Kenya’s development priorities.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Mr Blanár was received by Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Hon. Rebecca Miano, Mr. Mustafa Ibrahim, Deputy Director-General and Head of the Policy, Research and Strategic Analysis Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, and Amb. Valerie Rugene, Deputy Head of Mission at Kenya’s Embassy and Permanent Mission in Vienna.

Kenya and Slovakia have maintained cordial relations over the years, with both countries increasingly seeking to strengthen economic engagement, development cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
The visit is expected to inject fresh momentum into bilateral relations and open new avenues for cooperation in trade, investment and sustainable development.
