The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday, October 25, received the East African Community Secretary General Dr. Peter Mutuku Mathuki at the Presidential Villa in Mogadishu Somalia.
The objectives of the SG’s visit to Somalia were to formally deliver the Summit directive of the 22nd EAC Ordinary Summit which directed the Council to expeditiously fast-track the verification exercise of Somalia in accordance with the EAC Procedure.
The EAC also inform President Mohamud on the process that is followed after the Federal Republic of Somalia’s formal application to join the Community has been received.
