Sonko Chronicles: Ex-governor detained at Kamiti Maximum Prison

Mike Sonko, former Nairobi County governor will spend at least 30 days in prison pending investigations. – By Meshack Makau.

This barely comes hours after Milimani anti-corruption chief magistrate Felix Kombo issued an order for Sonko to be escorted back to Gigiri police station and produced at Kiambu court tomorrow at 2:30 PM.

In a sworn affidavit seen by Uzalendo News, chief inspector Newton M. Thimangu, a police officer attached to anti-terrorism police unit, Directorate of criminal investigations Nairobi filled the complains to the chief magistrate Kahawa Law Courts this afternoon seeking to detain him for a period of 30 days.

Sonko is believed to be involved in a terror group. According to the affidavit, Sonko is recruiting a militia group that is suspected to bring peace instability in the country.

The embattled governor has been spotted severally in public in military attire which is against the laws and regulations restricting such attire by non-security agents.

 It is believed that sonko is in the process of procuring military like combat for the said militia group.

The former governor is also said to have started arming his private security with military attire namely; military boots, military jungle uniforms and fire arms.

In the affidavit the chief inspector argued that he had intelligence information that governor Sonko is connected in funding terrorism activities and he is in the advance stage of procuring arms and ammunitions using a wide syndicate which is complex and sophisticated.

As a result, inspector Thimangu claims that Sonko is highly likely to interfere with witnesses and recoveries police need to make.
