Arsenal have crashed out of the FA Cup after a shock defeat to Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Having been beaten by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup last month, Mikel Arteta’s side have crashed out of another cup competition in a 2-1 loss to Saints with their season in danger of unravelling.

Southampton took the lead against Arsenal through Ross Stewart before Viktor Gyokeres came off the bench to grab an equaliser.

But the south-coast side had their own artillery on the bench with Shea Charles coming on to deliver the killer blow in the 85th minute – and deservedly so.

Arteta had revealed before kick-off that his players were keen to exorcise their Carabao Cup demons.

But it appears they are still feeling the after-effects of that defeat with yet another listless display – and were rightfully knocked out of the FA Cup.
