14 People Killed In Soweto Club Shooting

A mass shooting at a tavern in Gaouteng’s Soweto area in South Africa has killed 14 people.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, just after midnight, according to local media sources.

Ten additional people were hurt in the incident, with four of them in critical condition.

“Yes, I can confirm that the incident occurred, and it occurred about 12:30am this morning,” Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela told South African channel eNCA.

“According to preliminary investigations, the folks at the tavern were having a good time. They just came in and started shooting at them at random “Mawela elaborated.

The victims’ ages were likewise estimated to be between 19 and 35, according to the police commissioner.

The culprits are said to have fled shortly after the shooting.
