Anti-theft stock police detained the area MCA of Isiolo this morning with stolen cows.
Oldonyiro MCA David Lemantile was found with one of the cows that were stolen in April 2020.
They were able to retrieve 40 cows from Nyakach in Baringo North, Baringo County, which had been taken and driven away by robbers.
Bandits have intensified their attacks in numerous areas in Baringo Elgeyo Marakwet and Isiolocounties, only days after former Riftvalley Police boss George Natembeya left office to focus on politics.
This comes after a butcher named Peter Njenga, aka Sonko, was apprehended by sleuths who had been alerted to his questionable actions due to his ownership of multiple butcher shops along the Easter Bypass.
The man is alleged to be living luxuriously at the expense of Machakos County cattle owners who have been losing their cows for unknown reasons.
It is urged that residents report any suspicious activity in the village.
