Student Hospitalized After Sneaking Into Girls School

A boy from Gatamaiyu Boys High School has been hospitalized at Kiambu Hospital after he and three other students were attacked by a mob after sneaking into a ladies’ school.

Police say they’ll wait for the boy to heal and be released before recording his statement.

The youngster was one of four pupils who slipped out of school on Saturday evening and went to Gachoire Girls High School, according to Lari sub-county police chief Stephen Kirui.

When the girls school watchman noticed the students who were not in uniform, all hell broke out. He suspected them of being a thief group and alerted the authorities.

According to Kirui, the four began running away and exited the school, but members of the public pursued them and apprehended one of them.

“The kids had gone to see a friend of one of them, according to preliminary findings.

“They sneaked into the girls’ school, but the guard noticed them and interrogated them. They bolted.

“Because he had no idea who they were, the guard rang the alarm. “Three escaped, and one was apprehended by the general public,” he explained.

On suspicion of being a thief, he was severely beaten. Residents summoned police officials from the Kagwe police station, who freed him.

He was hurried to Kagwe health center, where he was treated, but the nurse recommended that he be taken to Kiambu hospital.
