Villarreal upset Bayern Munich by reaching the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 16 years thanks to a late winner from Samuel Chukwueze.
The Ex-arsenal Manager, Unai Emery led Villareal to a 1-0 first-leg victory in Spain, but Bayern Munich appeared to be in command until Robert Lewandowski scored in the 52nd minute at the Allianz Arena.
Chukwueze leveled on the break in the 88th minute with only his side’s second attempt on target throughout both legs, giving Villarreal the lead on aggregate and a historic triumph over the six-time European champions.
In the last four, they will meet the winner of Liverpool vs. Benfica, a match that Jurgen Klopp’s team presently leads 3-1 on aggregate.
