CJ Koome Gazettes Judges To Hear Election Petitions

The Judiciary had trained 7 Judges of the Supreme Court, 18 Judges from the Court of Appeal, 68 Judges from the High Court, and 342 Magistrates to tackle election petitions

The Chief Justice of Kenya, Martha Koome has gazetted Judges and Magistrates tasked with the responsibilities to hear and determine election petitions arising from the 2022 General Election.

Justice Musinga earlier on had disclosed that the Judiciary had trained 7 Judges of the Supreme Court, 18 Judges from the Court of Appeal, 68 Judges from the High Court, and 342 Magistrates to tackle election petitions from across the Country.

“Law clerks, legal researchers, and selected court staff, all of whom play an integral part in the judicial adjudication process, have also been trained, “Justice Odunga said.

The Judiciary has so far put it public that 12 petitions had been filed in the High Court to challenge Governor Elections, two for Senator, four for Woman Representative, and 28 for Parliamentary Elections.

In addition, the Magistrates Court received 77 petitions challenging the Member of County Assembly elections.
