Dear Supreme Court,
Now we know that all Judges are equal(Mwilu, DCJ, 2nd September 2022). Take judicial note too: ALL Kenyans are ALSO equal.
Yours is to serve them naked, bitter-sweet justice. No amount of heckling, backstabbing or influence peddling should sway your resolve, conscience and duty to decide who won or did not win the election. Kenyans deserve a verifiable judgement from your bench.
If the questions you posed to the threesome: IEBC, Raila Odinga and President-elect William Ruto’s lawyers is anything to go by, Kenyans tummies need not rumble.
Whether you posit to reject, confirm, affirm or dismiss the petition, electoral impunity should be buried two inches deep.
Remember none of the 12+1 disciples of Jesus died a pleasant death. But they shared one thing in common: fidelity to the doctrine of Jesus Christ. Like them, you should be ready, if need be, to die so that future generations pluck the ripe fruit of democracy.
If it weren’t for the sacrifices of Ahmed Bamahariz, George Nthenge, George Anyona, Martin Shikuku, Masinde Muliro, Balala, Stanley Matiba et al, you would all be jobless today.
On Monday, 5th September 2022, Kenyans expect justice. Not Public Relations. Not winding stories. When the history of the Supreme Court is written, you will either be heroes or villains. Nothing in between.
Kenyans heard the IEBC lawyers. Raila Odinga lawyers. President-elect William Ruto lawyers. Each of them was PAID to convince the bench to rule in their favour.
Kenyans have paid you to cut through their lies, sobs, prayers, wishes and innuendo and serve justice.
And so fear not. Because you elected to serve on the harrowed Supreme Court bench to make a difference. First things first. You have presided over the proceedings with extreme decorum, professionalism and decency.
Kenyans have the utmost trust in their ability, decisiveness, boldness and the ability to tame the high and mighty. The Judiciary is an independent arm of the government but the Judiciary and supreme Court included, is NOT independent of Wanjiku, Mwende, Fatuma, Cherop and Anyango.
Take note the Sh.40billion consumed by IEBC during this election is a burden enough for the poor dying Kenyans.None of the Chebukati- IEBC 3 and the Cherera-IEBC 4 are poor. None eats one meal a day(unless on doctor’s advice).
The coins consumed by IEBC are from the poorest of the poor. These are the men and women who fuel the economy daily. They deserve justice. They DON’T require it. They want it.
