The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a suspected fraudster and imposter who allegedly pretended to be a very powerful Senior Forensic Investigator at EACC with purported close ties to the commission’s CEO Twalib Mbarak.

Shadrack Kariira Ndegwa is accused of claiming the ability to end corruption investigations against anyone or sway matters under investigation in favour of the individuals under investigation.

He has also allegedly pretended to be a National Intelligence Service (NIS) or Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Forensic Investigator.

The suspect is currently held at the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station.

Investigations have heightened due to increasing complaints of fraudsters posing as staff members of EACC, DCI, Police, NIS, and DPP.

The fraudsters present themselves to targeted sections of the public purporting to be investigating corruption-related matters, seeking to extort money and other favors from their victims.
