Suspected Cocaine ‘Mule’ Arrested at Nairobi’s JKIA Airport

Kenyan authorities have intercepted a drug courier attempting to smuggle cocaine into the country yesterday, at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The 34-year-old suspect, identified as Muli Ayan Ndunge, was arrested moments after arriving from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), acting on precise intelligence, quickly closed in on Ndunge. She was taken to the ANU offices for observation, where she soon expelled 14 pellets of cocaine. Recognizing there could be more, officers maintained a tight watch.

Within minutes, another 14 pellets were recovered from her, bringing the total to 28 pellets. The narcotics weighed 912.74 grams and were valued at approximately Sh3,650,960 on the street.

An X-ray scan was conducted to confirm the suspect’s condition. The scan revealed her abdomen was clear of any additional contraband, sealing the case with certainty.

Ndunge remains in custody as investigations continue. Authorities are preparing her for arraignment, where she faces charges related to drug trafficking and possession with intent to distribute.
