Suspected land fraudster charged with defrauding Somali Nationals over Ksh 6 million

An alleged land fraudster was arraigned in a Nairobi Court and charged with defrauding Somali Nationals over Ksh 6 million pretending he would sell them land parcels at Syokimau.

The alleged fraudster, Benjamin Mulwa Muia is accused of obtaining Sh 3 million from Siratho Mohamed Abdi on April 30, 2023, by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell her a one-acre piece of land located in Syokimau.

He was also charged with obtaining Ksh 1,064,910 from Abdullahi Ahmed Roble pretending that he was in a position to sell to him the same property.

The Prosecution further alleged that Muia using similar fraudulent techniques, obtained Ksh 2,610,000 from Abdullahi Mohamed Hassan by pretending he could sell him the same land.

He appeared before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe at Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi and denied all the charges.

The Court released him on Ksh 500,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 200,000.
