Suspected Militants Kill Lamu Resident

On Monday, one person was killed in Bobo-Sunkia village, in Lamu west’s Hindi sub-county.

Lamu county commissioner Irungu Macharia confirmed the incident where John Gichoya, 62, had his hands and legs bound behind his back before being slain.

His body was torched alongside his house.

The attackers set two more houses on fire in the village.

Investigations are underway to determine the killers’ exact identities and motives.

Ranchers and local inhabitants have had a land dispute in the region.
