The Milimani Law Court will hear and rule on a Sh14.5 billion tax evasion case against Keroche Breweries Industry Ltd director Tabitha Muigai Karanja.
The case has been ongoing at Milimani Chief magistrate’s court since August 23, 2020, when it was filed.
Tabitha, who is currently the senator of Nakuru, has disputed the State’s 10 charges against her.
Her husband, Joseph Karanja, was acquitted after the DPP dropped charges against him owing to his poor health condition.
Their defence counsel, James Orengo, briefed the court last year that Karanja has been ill and that his medical condition is significant.
“We request that his name be removed from the charge sheet.”
According to medical documentation presented in court by Orengo, Karanja was extremely ill and was taken to Karen Hospital.
Karanja was eventually referred to the United Kingdom, where he is currently receiving treatment.
