Tangatanga politicians wage war against Interior CS Matiang’i

Politicians allied to the Deputy President William Ruto have vowed to prosecute Dr. Fred Matiang’i over alleged involvement in the Ruaraka Land saga. – By Gerald Gekara.

While addressing the press over the state of the prosecution, ex-presidential communications unit head Dennis Itumbi accused the Police and the DPP for delaying the case on purpose.

“They have chosen to cheer the suspects who clearly engineered the Saga. As Kenyans we are not powerless. There is no doubt that CS Matiang’i is a powerful man… Matiang’i on this matter did everything right but his eyes were focused on the public coffers.” Itumbi said.

Itumbi said that through private investigation, CS Matiang’i is at fault for authorizing a public purchase of land that already belonged to the public.

Itumbi added that the decision to prosecute will not cost the government a dime, as he will fully fund the process.

“Unlike the DPP, I will fully fund the process from my own means. Iam a pig farmer, and an avocado farmer.”

Itumbi further announced that two politicians, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah and Nairobi governor Mike Sonko have already co-signed to be witnesses over the case.

EACC, through Daily Nation, said about 30 people who include lawyers, bankers, government officials and family members are involved in the saga.

The dubious payment of Sh1.5 billion in the Ruaraka land transactions saw 10 cabinet ministers taken in for questioning, alongside the ex-National Land Commission chair. Mohammed Swazuri.
