Tanzania Alarmed As Nearly 800 Law Students Fail Exams

The results of the Bar exam for students of the National School of Law (LST) in the Tanzania have continued to be a challenge after only 23 students passed out of 821 students, involving students from the January to December study period last year.

According to the report of Mwananchi newspaper, the results that came out in April this year where 497 students have to repeat some lessons, while 301 students have their studies interrupted.

96% of those who took the School of Law exam in 2022 did not pass

Six months ago, the Government through the Minister of Constitution and Law, Dr. Damas Ndumbaro formed a committee to investigate and make recommendations with seven members to find the cause of the failure of many students in the final exams that qualify them to be lawyers.

In the results of the year 2022, it showed that 26 students (equal to 4.1 percent) were successful while 342 students were required to repeat some lessons and 265 students (equal to 41.9 percent) failed and their studies were terminated.
