President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania will arrive in Kenya on Tuesday for a two-day State visit.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will welcome his Tanzanian counterpart at State House, Nairobi, according to a tweet from State House spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo on Sunday.
It will be her first trip to Kenya after being sworn in as President of Tanzania after the death of John Pombe Magufuli.
President Kenyatta sent Sports CS Amina Mohamed to Tanzania for talks earlier this month in an attempt to improve ties between the two countries.
President Samia was also welcomed to Nairobi during the meeting by the Head of State.
Amina’s visit to Tanzania was also aimed at delivering Uhuru’s Kenyatta’s message to Suluhu amid a strained relationship between Tanzania and Kenya.
President Samia Suluhu reaffirmed her administration’s readiness and willingness to collaborate closely with Kenya in order to strengthen both countries’ trade ties and mutual interests.
