Tarrus Riley to Release Soulful New Single ‘You + Me = Good Life’ on July 25

Reggae star Tarrus Riley is set to release his latest single, You + Me = Good Life, on Friday, July 25 — a smooth, uplifting tribute to love, legacy, and the enduring power of reggae music.

Produced by Kareem “Remus” Burrell for XTM.Nation, the track samples the late Cocoa Tea’s 1994 classic Good Life, originally produced by Remus’ father, the iconic Philip “Fatis” Burrell of Xterminator Productions.

With both Fatis, who passed in 2011, and Cocoa Tea, who died in March 2025, the song serves as a heartfelt homage to two towering figures in reggae history.

“This one is about love in its purest form,” Riley said. “You plus me that’s the good life. And it’s also a little toast to the greats who came before us. Their music lives on through us.”

You + Me = Good Life is rich with lyrical messages of affection and empowerment. Riley’s signature vocals glide over a warm riddim produced by Runkus, with Wade Johnson on keyboards and Lamont ‘Monty’ Savory on guitar.

Vocoder flourishes lend a gentle futuristic vibe, while Veer Dhaniram’s engineering keeps the sound polished and dynamic.

The song includes standout lines such as:
Miss Good Good your life stable, dem cyah ask wah you bring to the table, You are your own boss” reinforcing the track’s message of self-worth and independence, especially for women.

Riley gave fans a live taste of the single at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay on July 19, where he also delivered a touching cover of Cocoa Tea’s original.

You + Me = Good Life will be available on all major streaming platforms from July 25.
