Tate Brothers Face 21 Charges in UK, Including Rape and Human Trafficking

Controversial influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been formally charged in the UK with a combined 21 serious offences, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm, prosecutors confirmed on Tuesday.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed that the charges were authorised in 2024 following an investigation by Bedfordshire Police into allegations dating back to 2012–2015.

The brothers were raised in Luton after moving from the US with their mother.

Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges linked to three alleged victims, while his brother Tristan, 36, faces 11 charges tied to one victim.

The offences include rape, controlling prostitution for gain, and violent assault. The brothers have denied all allegations, calling themselves “very innocent men.”

Although they are currently under investigation in Romania for separate charges — including trafficking minors and rape — the CPS clarified that UK extradition can only proceed once Romanian legal proceedings are concluded.

The Tates rose to global notoriety through Andrew’s self-styled image as a “success guru” and his polarizing social media content. With over 10 million followers on X, he has been widely criticized for promoting misogynistic views.

First arrested in Romania in 2022, the brothers were placed under house arrest, then detained again in March 2024 after the UK issued an arrest warrant.

Romanian authorities lifted their travel ban in early 2025. The pair briefly travelled to the US before voluntarily returning to Romania, declaring their intent to clear their names.

This marks the first time UK authorities have publicly confirmed criminal charges against the brothers.
