A middle-aged man presumed to be an online taxi driver was arraigned in Court where he faced charges of obtaining money by false pretence contrary to the Law.
David Mbithi Mwanzia, a digital taxi driver is accused that on diverse dates between May 25 and June 11, 2022, jointly with others not before Court, obtained Ksh 38,658 from Mwandau Ikutu.
He pretended that he was in a position to facilitate the complainant to the United Kingdom for a job opportunity through a Company namely Hazel Agencies LTD, a fact the accused knew to be false.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Micheni Wendy of Milimani Law Courts, he denied particulars of the offence and was released on a bond of Ksh 100,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 50,000.
