Teen Gospel Star Lands Natgeo Job

Shanah Manjeru, a 14-year-old Kenyan gospel musician and TV host has been selected from amongst hundreds of top child applicants from across Africa to be one of the hosts of the National Geographic Kids Africa (Natgeo Africa) educational entertainment series.

The series will celebrate the environment, and bring awareness to conservation and associated issues that are important to children and their communities.  

The series’ first group of presenters include; Shanah Manjeru (14), Mysha Hodson (13), Marita Lucas (12), Adarsh Nagda (12), and Railey Mwai (11), who will serve as studio hosts for the show.

Casting is currently underway for field presenters that will present inserts in locations in Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and Tanzania.  

The announcement of the production was issued by The Walt Disney Company, Wildlife Direct, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of State.

The 26-part television series, which will air across Africa on both National Geographic Wild and Disney Channel, will be shot primarily in East Africa, with additional filming in West and Southern Africa.
