Mukuuni Boys’ High School in Chuka Sub-county, Tharaka Nithi County, has been closed due to an outbreak of a disease with Cholera-like symptoms.
Tharaka Nithi County Director of Education Bridget Wambua confirmed the incident, saying that more than 40 students were taken to Chuka County Referral Hospital and Chuka Nursing Home with stomachaches, diarrhoea, and vomit.
She stated that three of them were admitted to Chuka Nursing Home in Chuka town, while the others were treated and released.
All 950 students of the school have been sent home after diarrhea and vomit out break.
This comes just three weeks after Sacred Hearts Mukumu was closed due to a disease outbreak.
The shocking incident claimed the lives of three students.
