In Diani, the second symposium on climate change and health has begun. The conference’s main objective is to raise awareness of the role that climate-smart health systems may play in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Human health and the healthcare system are already being impacted by climate change. It is time to talk about and make a commitment to being change agents, whether you are a researcher seeking new knowledge or a person navigating daily life.
In his introductory remarks, KEMRI Ag. DG Prof. Elijah Songok emphasised the necessity for collaboration amongst all major players in the fields of health, the environment, and climate change in order to develop workable solutions.
Dr. Abdullahi Ali, Chairman of KEMRI, reaffirmed that the conference is an opportunity to give medical professionals the instruments and resources they require to decrease their impact on climate change.
