The team to mortgage. Aka bipartisan. Mortgage because they have vested interests… as puppets of their principles President William Ruto and ex-PM Raila Odinga are the bipartisan teams. But to baptize it, they have hand-picked cronies.
The 7 aside teams’ unspoken brief is to get Raila a power role…either through a leg, hand or eye shake. There are moderates. Hard-liners on both divide. Boni Khalwale, Mwengi Mutuse, Hillary Sigei, and Adan Kenyan for Ruto.
Edwin Sifuna, Ledama Ole Kina, Millie Odhiambo, and Enock Wambua for Raila.
Sifuna will claw Khalwale, Mutuse will square Wambua, Ole Kina will deal with Sigei while Adan Keynan will deal with Odhiambo.
Mistake this note. Raila and Ruto are having parallel talks. The bipartisan team is a public pressure management machine.
Pressure management because the cost of living is innocent. But the economic loss to the public has been massive
Ruto and Raila are hard-nosed politicians. They have fought since 1992…but found a common ground against GEMA in 2007.
Both want power or a share of the same. One a Scientist turned political Professor. The other a revolutionary engineer purporting to be a Democrat.
Both share a pathological apathy against certain regions of Kenya. But they realize they need these to navigate the next deep political causes.
The partnership between President Ruto and DP Gachagua and Raila against Karua and Kalonzo is not based on political love.
It is a marriage of convenience. Ruto, Raila and Mudavadi ticket makes sense. But a jinx exists… Hence the Gachagua portion.
Ruto will be happy to heal Raila Rift. But Gachagua has a political future he wants to secure as a son of Mau Mau. Sons of Mau Mau do many things together including sacrificing and eating stolen sheep.
But sons of Mau Mau will close ranks yesterday if their interests are threatened.
The Ruto Raila little fights are beginning to hurt the core of the Mau Mau. So expect a quick ceasefire by the owners of the Mau Mau.
These are the Muranga and Kiambu-based tycoons who own Equity Bank and NCBA Bank. These share profits in billions at the end of every financial year.
