The forgetful Kenyan electorate: who cares?

Prior to the promulgation of the 2010 constitution, supporters of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga flatly refused to read the draft constitution.

Reason? Baba had read and found it fit and good, and therefore the verdict was yes.

During subsequent elections, supporters of Uhuruto and Raila, Kalonzo chiefly from their respective tribes refused to reason.

Blinded along tribal lanes, they flooded voting booths to elevate tribalism through the ballot, not leadership qualities.

2022 elections just around the corner tribal numbers and alliances are regrouping against Nationalism, Building bridges initiative politics are here, but due to the fanatical politics it may never be about the content but will win allegiance in political alignments.

Who cares?

The same leaders have now disregarded all Covid- 19 protocols, they no longer wear masks or keep the social distance.

DP Ruto was in Kisii and freely hugged supporters.

Raila was in coast, Uhuru was in Nairobi President.

Kenyans are to blame for their careless attitude, and because they are willing to die for their leaders…as long as by so doing they will assume State House tenancy.

The big question:  should Kenyans risk their lives for Uhuru, Ruto and Raila?

Why risk their children to support the non-supporting political class?

In conclusion, if the political trend continues then the president should consider full opening of the economy, allow Kenyans to deal with their hustle and solve their own problems.
