His introduction to the Kenyan Corporate ladder was via GlaxoSmithklineBeecham where he sharpened his corporate teeth in Kenya and Nigeria. When he got bored of selling Panadol and detailing other pharmaceuticals to doctors, Kidero joined Nation Newspapers as the Managing Director.
Nation, then the A league employer in Kenya provided him with the platform to showcase his managerial talents. It was while at Nation that the opportunity to govern Mumias Sugar arose… After the exit of a certain South African technocrat.
Alot is said about his tenure at Mumias. But suffice is to say that the Miller didn’t die in his hands. It was while at Mumias that Kidero was introduced into politics by cartels in Western Kenya.
But he had a problem. One Raila Amolo Odinga, who “owns” the Luo nation politically. Kidero, like Tom Mboya before him is from South Nyanza. He is of Abasuba descent, cousins of the Luo.
To placate Raila into accepting him, Kidero decided to run in Nairobi as the first Governor. He and PS Mueke won vide the CORD ticket in 2013. It so happens that Kidero, either through omission or commission decided to embrace the UhuRuto Government without consulting Baba.
The UhuRuto Presidency ensured that Kidero was insulated from many misdemeanors, including assault on Rachel Shebesh
Then the rain came. Kidero lost to Sonko. Raila did a handshake with Kenyatta. And demanded Kidero’s political blood. Overnight, Kidero’s servers were opened. He was charged with several graft cases…
Kidero is not an idiot. He has seen cases collapse and haunted people becoming celebrities. Kidero was until he joined President Ruto a dead man walking politically

Kidero has a following in South Nyanza however little. And President Ruto is not seeking a landslide victory in the area in 2027. And he is not a poor man either. Neither is he known to be mean to a good cause.
Among the 49 CAS faces, Kidero may be the most solid financially. He knows the trenches of Nairobi, and controls some political cells in City slums.
Kidero will be paired with his successor Mike Mbuvi Kivanguli Sonko to tame Babu Owino, with the help of and an Embakasi politician known as Irungu to check the activities of Raila in Nairobi.

Should this happen, the events of March 20th will take a fresh dimension… A possible ugly confrontation between City youth.
