Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza went on a social media rant on Thursday morning, hours after the County Assembly unanimously voted to impeach her.
Mwangaza hinted on her Facebook page that her impeachment cost millions of shillings.
She claimed that her opponents paid for headlines in order to further their agenda.
“They have used Millions of money. Sleepless Nights. A lot of Energy. Sponsored Headlines. Engaging the public seriously. Connections with different types of people. Just to confirm what God wants them to do. A spiritual Mission. (BRAND BUILDING). #AttackFollowsanointing #merumustbehappy #serikaliyamamaikoimara 10 bila brakes. Amen,” Mwangaza wrote on Facebook.
Mwangaza was dealt a major blow on Wednesday when 67 of 69 MCAs voted to impeach her.
Her fate now rests with the Senate, which must decide whether to uphold or dismiss the impeachment.
If the charges are upheld, Mwangaza will be the first governor to be impeached under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
