Newcastle United are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Thorgan Hazard, who is expected to cost around £13 million this summer, according to Bild.
The 29-year-old joined Dortmund in the summer of 2019 and has since appeared in 98 games, scoring 35 goals.
With Newcastle United finishing the 2021/22 season in style, many fans expected the Magpies to immediately demonstrate their financial clout in the transfer market.
However, no deals have been completed despite the club being linked with moves for Sven Botman and Hugo Ektike.
Despite a reported transfer budget of £200 million, Eddie Howe and co have yet to bring a new face to St James’ Park.
This could change in the coming weeks, as Bild reports that the Magpies are interested in signing Thorgan Hazard this summer.
The 29-year-old had an injury-plagued 2021/22 season, appearing in just 30 games across all competitions and contributing only seven goals.
However, this, combined with the fact that he is no longer in the plans of new Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic, has opened the door for Newcastle to sign him.
Furthermore, Bild reports that despite the fact that the former Borussia Monchengladbach star has two years left on his current contract, the Bundesliga giants are only looking for a fee of around £13 million for him.
