Police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Msambweni, working together with officers from Diani Police Station, have arrested three suspected members of a criminal gang linked to a series of attacks along the South Coast.
The suspects are believed to be part of a group that has been targeting residents and visitors in Tiwi, Mwachema, Mwakamba and sections of the beachlines in Matuga and Msambweni.
Authorities said the arrests followed intelligence-led operations that enabled officers to trace the suspects to their hideout in Tiwi.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Swaleh Idd, Ismael Sefu and Omar Rama.
Police say the trio had been linked to incidents that had caused fear among members of the public in the affected areas.
The three suspects are currently being held at Diani Police Station, where they are undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment in court.
Investigations into the gangās activities are ongoing.
