Multi agency teams in operation in Marsabit County recovered three more guns in ongoing exercise aimed at restoring peace in the region.
This increases the number of guns and bullets so far recovered in the two months long exercise.
The team said they conducted intensive patrols within Kargi Division and recovered three Mark 4 rifles that had been surrendered to the area chief by the elders.
Police say the exercise has been progressing well and there is reduced crime so far in the area.
Officials said the operation will continue until at least 5,000 of the estimated guns in illegal hands in the County are retrieved.
